CLEARANCE Wooden Puzzle Set - Emotions

Multicultural emotions puzzles that will help children to explore and identify their emotions in a fun and engaging way. Using high quality images, these colour coded 4 piece puzzles feature 8 emotions pictures. This puzzle also helps develop visual spatial memory, gross motor skills and cooperative play.

These puzzles are approx. 4cm x 4cm, made with 3mm sustainable plywood and come in a linen drawstring bag. Recommended for ages 3+.

Every piece of wood used is slightly different in colour, texture and grain with naturally occurring imperfections seen in the timber (e.g knots, colour changes, etc). These pieces of timber are cut on an engraver and will have slight burnt marks on the edges on some sides. The best way to keep these raw timber resources hydrated and well-nourished is with a natural oil or wax, like beeswax polish.

Individual

An induction to Emotions. A great one on one game to help children settle and connect with their educator. Children can learn to regulate and understand their emotions through discussions about each puzzle

Group Setting

Set up as a quiet play area, encourage children to engage with each other in conversation. Ask open ended questions to foster learning through play. Children will discover and learn about feelings and learn empathy as well. Discuss the details of each puzzle and have the children take turns giving examples of when each emotion has been felt in their own lives.

Learning Opportunities

This is a great activity to get children to regulate and recognise their own feelings and emotions, as well as learning to recognise and empathise with the emotions of others. Social play, turn taking skills, listening and language skills.
